The Royal Scientific Society (RSS)/National Energy Research Centre (NERC) organized the Access to Finance Workshop on “The mechanism of attracting and managing environmental investments at municipal level” from 5-6 December 2022 for Ma’an and Ajloun Greater Municipalities.
The workshop discussed the mechanism of attracting investment and financing to support municipal projects, especially sustainable development projects, and paving the investment climate for participating municipalities to change the mindset of municipal leaders and entice them to engage in investment-worthy opportunities using WEF Nexus approach.
Access to Finance workshop supports the targeted municipalities in designing WEF Nexus projects from the spirit of SECAP including the investment and impact thesis, fund foundation and structure, and coherent economics; marketing the fund to attract investors and fund management.
This training is conducted by MINARET “The MENA Region Initiative as a model of the NEXUS Approach and Renewable Energy Technologies” in its second phase which aims at “Empowering Municipal Governance for Climate Resilience Using WEF Nexus Approach”.
MINARET II initiative is implemented in the context of the Nexus Regional Dialogues Programme, which is implemented by RSS on behalf of GIZ, and co-funded by the European Union (EU) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ).
